Minerals West Coast website goes live
The Minerals West Coast website is now live.
The website represents a significant part of our communication initiative. It will be used to showcase the Coasts diverse and significant minerals endowment, detail the many operations in the region, and explain the benefits of a responsible mining industry to a public that often only seems to hear see negative aspects portrayed in the media.
People | Place | Potential
We have adopted three significant strands and used these to structure the site.
People
This section details the structure and aims of the Minerals West Coast Trust and lists the trustees. As this section develops we hope to be able to feature people from industry people who are making a difference or getting things done. If you have suggestions we would be please to hear from you.
Place
This is section is short on purpose. Its a brief introduction to the Coast, and includes a selection of links to the many excellent websites that detail our region and its attractions. Why bother? Because we anticipate that the MWC website will be used as a recruiting tool to attract new staff to the region. This section could be their first look at the Coast.
Potential
The engine room of the site. At present there is information on gold, coal, aggregate, limestone and pounamu. We plan to add more as the site develops. Of particular significance is the strategic plan. This section clearly details the aims and objectives of Minerals West Coast. The section on training will become increasingly important
The site also links to other websites of interest: in government, industry, training and tourism.
Future developments
We have some ideas for the future development of the site. There is the possibility of a Coast Trading Post where plant and equipment can be advertised for sale or exchange. We will also be able to list industry job opportunities, upcoming training course and important meetings. The aim is to make the site relevant and useful both to industry and the public sector.
Have your say
We value your input. Let us know what you think. You may have additional information or images for a section of the site from your industry sector, or a link to another site we have not yet featured, or an idea for future development that will make the site even more relevant
We intend the site to be dynamic and developing, and a real representation of a revitalised minerals industry on the Coast. Have your say and be part of this initiative.
